I knew it was called NADA but I didn’t have any idea what it was. I’m rigging Ford today. I was on Cox Automotive yesterday. I’m beginning to think auto dealers make too much money....

curious I was talking with my buddy. The folks that stand on the podium describing the cars, do they go from show to show? Or are they from teh local dealers, or are they real spokesman and not actors*?

Can only speak for my local show, but yes cars tend to be from local dealers unless they are in extreme limited supply at which point they’ll bring in a national car if applicable. As for which local dealer, safe to assume the one that performs the best or is the national headquarters.

If they’re there to do sales, then yes they are affiliated with the dealership. If they are just there doing promotions then it is likely contracted out. Obviously for press days, they fly in corporate .

It seems like this is a closed to the public show for huge auto dealer networks or something, companies I’ve never heard of here.

Well this is not the auto show, it’s for dealer networks, but I do work on the big auto shows and for the important stuff they do get people from the company or professional speakers to go up there and talk to the crowd.

What do you mean dealers make too much money?!? Don’t you know they’re just poor “small” businesses where the owner is just trying to feed himself and his wife with a multi million dollar mansion and other multiple homes.

I certainly feel bad for them.
